Aaron Haney is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose music is grounded in honest storytelling and real-life experience. Raised in Norman, Oklahoma, he began writing and performing in the local music scene before relocating to Galveston and eventually Montana — each chapter shaping the grit, heart, and perspective that define his sound.
Blending rock, country, and alternative influences, Aaron writes songs drawn directly from his own life, capturing moments as they unfold — unfiltered, reflective, and real. A hands-on creator in the studio, he builds tracks from the ground up, playing multiple instruments and shaping arrangements with the song itself always at the center.
His latest release, Changes, was self-produced and features vocalist and lead guitarist Chris Johnson. Johnson’s expressive guitar work, distinctive voice, and engineering expertise help bring Aaron’s emotionally driven writing to life, highlighting his commitment to authentic storytelling.
Aaron recently completed recording Montana, a new full-length album created in close collaboration with singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer Zak Perry. Produced by Perry — who is also featured throughout on vocals and guitar — the project represents a true creative partnership. Perry co-wrote all ten tracks alongside Aaron, serving not only as a collaborator but as a mentor throughout the process. While the title nods to a place that deeply influenced the record’s creation, Montana is not a concept album. Instead, it stands as a collection of honest, heartfelt songs exploring life, growth, and personal experience. The album is currently heading into the mixing phase.
Aaron continues to write and record new material, working closely with both Perry and Johnson on future projects, steadily building a sound rooted in trust, collaboration, and craft.
For Aaron Haney, it all begins with the song — and a story worth telling.
